Medicare Part A & B

Medicare Part A

Part A along with Part B is one half of what is generally referred to as “original Medicare”. Part A will cover your in-patient hospitalization, along with care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care and some home health care.

If you meet the eligibility requirements for Medicare, then you will automatically be enrolled into Part A of Medicare at age 65. If you or your spouse have not paid into social security for a minimum of 10 years, then you may be required to pay an additional premium for Part A.

Medicare Part B

Part B is the second half of what is generally referred to as “original Medicare”. Part B will cover your out-patient services such as the cost of your provider, medical supplies, and certain preventative services. If you meet eligibility requirements for Medicare, then you will be eligible to enroll in Part B shortly before your 65th birthday. You will need to pay a monthly premium for Part B.
